Another major consideration on a website is images. Notice that Google has added an images button right next to the maps and news buttons because it’s such a common place for people to go. Humans are often visual learners so it makes sense that seeing an image would be a first thought when researching just about anything. With this in mind, you’ll want to make sure the images on your website are labeled with exactly the keyword(s) you want. You don’t want to title the image of the coffee mugs you sell as “image 34612;” that goes nowhere. Rather, title them “local artisan coffee mugs” or “handmade coffee mugs” because that’s closer to what someone would type in a search.
