Welcome to First Baptist Church. We are a community that embraces its Baptist heritage. Yet, we may not be what you immediately think of when you hear the word Baptist. The heart of our Baptist identity is found in the freedoms of Baptist Life; Soul Freedom, Religious Freedom, Church Freedom and Bible Freedom. We invite you to explore these foundational principles and get to know us through this website or in person at any of our programs.
First Baptist Church has been an inclusive, progressive voice in Salt Lake City for over a century and we are building on that tradition as we seek to be relevant today. We are a worshipping community seeking to display Gods love through being a rich fellowship of mutual support and respect, who celebrate our diversity of faith backgrounds, orientation, race and ability. We are a place where whether you are a believer, a seeker or even a doubter, you are invited to develop and foster your faith in an environment that is encouraging and safe. We are a people who love beyond our congregation to the community and the world.
